Thank you for your support!
In the heart of Pittsburgh, aptly known as The City of Bridges, our 60th Regional Conference can be encapsulated in one word – Excellence. With meticulous attention and care, the 2023 Atlantic Region Leadership Conference Planning Team curated a safe, enjoyable, and productive conference experience that united Sorors and Amicae from Liberia to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to conduct essential business, create a lasting footprint of impactful service while cherishing the bonds of Sisterhood and Friendship.
The pre-conference activities began with a series of workshops related to Parli-U: Enhanced Meeting Minutes, Project H.E.A.L – The Sisterhood Experience, Z-HOPE TM: Scaling for Impact, DfreeTM: Igniting Extraordinary Economic Empowerment, Good Health Wins, and International Constitution & Bylaws Overview led by a dynamic faculty of presenters to enhance our members’ leadership and organizational knowledge, insights, and proficiency.
Opening Ceremony
The conference was officially called to order during the Opening Ceremony by Regional Director Hon. Beverly S. Tatham who welcomed attendees to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and reminded us that “the bridge to that excellence is indeed found in our bonds of service and sisterhood, which are the very principles that can help us attain the charge of being extraordinary.”. Soror Lakeisha Brown, a/k/a KiKi Brown, media personality and music director at Pittsburgh’s WAMO 107.3, did a remarkable job serving as our Mistress of Ceremonies.
We invoked the Extraordinary Power of S.H.E. during the Opening Program, which set the tone for excellence in our impact that resonated throughout the conference. We also acknowledged our corporate sponsors Equitable Advisors, FHL Bank, National University, Soror Saniah M. Johnson Seacrest Consultant, along with our partnerships with the Good Health Wins, St. Jude’s, Travelholics & Audible.
During the Opening Program we hosted a Health Justice Townhall emphasizing the impact of racism on Black Maternal Health. Soror Cheryl Pemberton-Graves led an insightful discussion with subject matter experts, our community partners and international leaders in discussions aimed at emphasizing the importance and necessity of Zeta and our collective power to improve maternal and mental health outcomes in underserved communities.
